I had the opportunity to enjoy this Châteauneuf-du-Pape over the summer; luckily I held on to the tasting notes, and so now I can share with you my thoughts on this bottle. Showing off its sparkling, ruby red color, this lovely Cdp has an intense nose of dark fruit and black tea. On the palate, it is full-bodied and dry, with tasting notes of plum, blackberry, leather, oak, black pepper, a hint of tobacco, and vanilla. The finish is long and dry, with soft tannins. Find this stellar bottle on the reserve list at Madiran for $110.
